In 2006 she opened her own restaurant in Whalley, which went on to feature in the Michelin Food Guide, The Good Food Guide, and Harden's, and was named the UK's best contemporary British restaurant by LUXlife in 2020. After 17 years, the restaurant permanently closed in June 2023.

The Breda Murphy story has continued through its deli and ready meal delivery service, based at Mitton Road Business Park in Whalley. The deli offers hot and cold food, freshly baked treats, and a well stocked pantry, alongside coffee, wine, and beer to enjoy in or take home. 

Alongside the deli, Breda Murphy now produces hand made, restaurant quality ready meals, frozen and delivered nationwide, with meal boxes for singles, couples, and families, as well as gift boxes for new parents, new homes, or simply as a treat. The business also offers catering for events, covering canapes, main courses, buffets, and desserts.

Breda's food has won a string of awards over the years, including Restaurant of the Year at the Lancashire Food and Drink Awards, and continues to be featured in the national press.
